Structured cabling is the backbone of any network infrastructure. Cabling Site Surveys
Pegasus Communications can help you get a handle on your specific installation needs through an on-site survey. Site surveys isolate numerous variables that you may not be aware of and help minimize surprises during an actual installation. Accurate site surveys can help you determine the feasibility of an installation, budgetary constraints, and whether there is a need for specialty tools or supplies. Our experienced project management team can assist you in not only writing a functional survey, but also documenting and compiling the results in an organized fashion.
Demarc Extension Services
Pegasus Communications can help get your organization online by providing a demarc extension, a routine service needed by many businesses.
A demarc extension is the process of connecting your organization’s network to a data line–such as a T1, DSL, or basic phone lines, provided by the telephone company or another vendor. The “demarction point” (or “demarc” for short) is the spot at your location where the vendor terminates their circuit. Beyond this point it is your responsibility to connect your network to that demarc. The demarc must be extended to reach a wiring closet or some sort of data distribution system in order to integrate with your network. Depending on your needs and the layout of the site, services for a demarc extension can vary greatly. Pegasus Communications has experience performing demarc extensions in many environments, including warehouses, offices, schools, shopping malls, and high-rise buildings. We can perform a demarc extension at a single location or we can serve as your one point of contact to coordinate multiple jobs at locations across the country.
Network Wiring Testing
Your wiring infrastructure is the foundation of your network. Have you ever wondered if your wiring was done correctly? Our technicians can document and test your wiring using state-of-the-art test equipment for copper and fiber optic cabling. Testing your cabling is a great way to verify that your network will support the performance you desire. In addition, testing by a third party company like Pegasus Communications can serve as a useful check-and-balance to make sure you have received a quality installation or that your self-installed wiring meets published industry standards. Upon completion, documentation is provided in printed and/or electronic format. We can also make recommendations for improvements to your wiring infrastructure.
